Letter from Deborah

After the muted tones of winter, I find myself yearning for the vivid colors of spring. Maybe it’s partly because I’ve always lived in places where the change of seasons is dramatic, but this craving seems to come from the core of my being. I’ve also discovered, in traveling the country and talking to our customers, that the craving transcends geography. Even if you live in an area where seasonal changes are subtle, it feels right to welcome spring with a change of colors or accents in home décor.

Luckily, nature has a wonderful way of delivering what the head and heart need. When the first buds appear in my garden, I go in close for a bee’s eye view. I take in the petals’ luminous colors and breathe in the flowers’ delicious scents. I feel a sense of renewal—and that’s what I translate into fresh, new designs and products.
